Thought for the day May 11, 2008

Addictions usually start slowly.  Even bad habits have a learning curve, just like good ones.  Once addictions are well established, they're very difficult to break.

Sometimes we can break addictions on our own, but prayer is often necessary; and when we try by ourselves and fail we know that we need God's help.  It's only with God's help that we can make lasting changes that stick.

The best journeys in our lives should always start with a prayer that asks God how to proceed, and end with a prayer of thanks.  Important things that we need to do are often hard, so we need to stay close to God, and ask for His help, all along each step of the way.
