Ever feel good about yourself because you turn down temptation?
It's appropriate to be thankful when we avoid temptations that are haunting us, but we can never think that we've conquered them forever. The enemy always has a new trick or spin on an old theme, and the battle will have to be fought again another day, or even just 5 minutes from now.
We can be thankful that we've avoided temptation, but we can never be prideful of it, or let down our guard. We're in a lifelong war against it, and there's a new battle to be fought every day.
