Thought for the day May 13, 2008

It's difficult to get others to follow what you say when you don't do it yourself.  We've all heard the phrase "Do as I say, not as I do", but we know that our example behaviour speaks louder than our words.  It's difficult to motivate others to do what we're not even trying to do.

When we want a better life for others, we have to lead by example.  Our example of quitting smoking can encourage our teenagers not to smoke, and the same goes for weight control, leading an organized life, and having a daily time of prayer.  If we lead by example we increase our odds for success, and make our own lives better at the same time.
